Pancakes have become such a popular Shrove Tuesday tradition that on the 16th February, a whopping 52 million eggs will be used in the UK.

That is 22 million more than your average day, eggciting stuff!

With the average egg costing 19p, this equates to a total spend of £9.62 million on eggs.

With the UK average house price of £249,633, this could almost buy 39 houses.

The largest pancake ever created was 53% bigger than the average UK detached house.

It was created in Rochdale in 1994, by the Co-Operative Union, Ltd.

The pancake had a surface area of 1,905 sq ft, now that's a LOT of batter and whisking.
